To give you some context, we are SK8 M8S,  a roller skate apparel brand by skaters for all skaters of all ages & skate abilities. It's our mission to provide affordable and custom roller skate apparel for roller skaters worldwide. sk8m8s.co.uk

We are doing our first campaign "All skaters included" and in true SK8 M8S fashion we would like to include roller skaters in as many ways as possible. We would like to commission multiple roller skaters that are poets/writers to write a short piece go along side the visuals and branding for the campaign.

"All skaters Included" description & Details;

100 - 200 words max

The piece should embody what it's like as an individual "Quad" skater but highlight the joys and importance of skating within the roller skate community. The hardships and plato's but also the incredible feeling of unlocking skills with friends. Think about your journey as a roller skater, how you may have started off practicing alone but improved with the help of your fellow skaters, your skate mates. How you grew & improved together! The strangers that became your friends through roller skating. It must cover all types of skaters from, rink skaters, Jam skaters and street skaters to strictly ramp skaters. Skaters of all ages, ethic backgrounds and from all walks of life. It has to be energetic, inspiring, relatable, have personality, be inclusive & well-paced, as well as specific to the London roller skate scene, so include notable references that will be known to London roller skaters. It has to end with "All skaters included".

Note:

You can submit as many pieces as you like, so go for it. If your piece is to be heard a certain way that can not be convey by just reading it, (eg pace or rhyme) please send a clear audio recording along with the written piece. Please title your files & email  "All skaters Included - Your name" If you submit more than 1 please add the number after your name.

We will only be selecting the pieces that we think best suit our vision, mission and brand. Our budget is £65 per piece. If successful or not, everyone will be informed by 30th August and if selected paid no later than 4th September 2023.
